     The aim of this work is to study the correlation between ground-based measured aerosol optical thickness (AOT) and Earth Probe TOMS aerosol index (AI). The satellite measurements concern Marrakech’s region. The photometric measurements are performed at 12 km from Marrakech city with a CIMEL sun-photometer of AERONET network. From its geographic position we expect desert dust aerosol particles. A satisfying correlation has been established whose Pearson correlation coefficient R2 is about 0.70.
