Rectangular waveguide corners discontinuities are frequently used in many applications in communication systems. Fast and efficient technique, based on three finite element method FEM is applied in this paper to the analysis of bends in lossless rectangular waveguides for both E and H plane.

These junctions are excited with fundamental mode which contributes to the transfer of energy across the discontinuity. Compared to traditional finite element method, this new technique allows to calculate the generalized scattering matrix of entire complex waveguide corners for only fundamental TE10 mode and for single step. Consequently, it can reduce the computation times.

All these numerical results have been validated by comparison with results available in the scientific literature.
