Thermophysical analysis of polysiloxane

and nematic liquid crystal mixture

Abstract

     The investigated polymethylphenylsiloxane/E7 system shows an increase of the
nematic-isotropic transition temperature when establishing the corresponding phase diagram by Polarized Optical Microscopy. The characterization of the polymer/liquid crystal system and the content of liquid crystal domains were carried out using High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Differential Scanning Calorimetry techniques.
