Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the transfer function of a wall in order to identify the thermal diffusivity. This method is based on the analysis, in the frequency domain, of temperatures at the limits surfaces of a plane wall. The theory of the thermal quadripole, now well known, permits to introduce the concept of transfer function in thermics. This approach is particularly interesting in the problems of identification of parameters, avoiding the delicate problems of deconvolution. The method suggested is applied to the identification of thermal diffusivity using periodic or random signals simulating an unspecified signal.
