Abstract

13C spin lattice relaxation times () and nuclear Overhauser effects (NOE) of the phenyl groups in ethylphenyltrichloromethylphosphinate ((CCl3)PhP(O)(OEt)) have been measured in chloroform as solvent. Internal rotations into this species have been characterised and the corresponding correlation times determined according to an appropriate model. The study is made in comparison with triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) in nitromethane [1].
