This work deals with the infrared spectroscopic study of the palygorskite coming from the Middle-Atlas (Morocco). The analysis of the infrared spectra carried out with samples taken under normal conditions or vacuum precondition with isotopic exchange H/D at various temperatures was undertaken.
This study made it possible to assign the stretching and deformation OH of constituted water in this palygorskite. In complement of the infrared data of the literature, it was possible to determine the isotope shifts of the bands corresponding to the hydrated and zeolitic water.
