Abstract

Structural and magnetic properties of Sm2Fe17-xSixHmax and Nd2Fe17-xCoxHmax (x = 1 - 3) compounds are investigated. A single phase with rhombohedral Th2Zn17 - type structure for both samples has been observed using X - ray diffraction. Lattice parameters, a and c, and the unit cell volume are found to decrease linearly with Si and Co contents respectively. Curie temperatures increase with increasing Si and Co concentrations and also with hydrogen insertion.
