Abstract

New hydridofluorides of potassium-calcium KCaH3-xFx with x = 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 have been obtained in the KF-CaH2-CaF2 system. They crystallize with an orthorhombic perovskite-type structure and lattice parameters were determined.

The thermal behavior of the four compounds has been studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Every DSC curve reveals a sharp anomaly with low energies; the temperature of anomalies depends to rate of fluor present in the samples.
