Cathodoluminescent characteristics of undoped and fluor doped ZnO thin films prepared by spray pyrolysis

Abstract

Cathodoluminescence films of F-doped and undoped zinc oxide prepared by spray pyrolysis technique have been studied. The cathodoluminescence for F-doped zinc oxide is formed by broad three peaks at 382, 454 and at 672 nm at room temperature. Undoped films present the well-know blue green emission characteristic of ZnO. All deposited films are polycrystalline and have a hexagonal crystalline structure. The cathodoluminescence excitation spectra indicate that the luminescence intensity increase with increasing the voltage excitation and F-doped ZnO films have a good luminescence intensity. The optical absorption edge is independent of doping.
