Abstract

DIAL measurements are often affected by laser beam misalignment. An error analysis procedure is presented, which has been applied to recent pollutant measurements carried on with a Ti:Sapphire Lidar system at Centro Laser.

It has been analyzed the geometrical form factor of a lidar telescope and discussed how it affects the DIAL measurement results. In this paper it is presented a method for finding geometrical form factor from experimental lidar signals as well as an analytical method. Comparison of fits of obtained functions with experimental data is presented.
